Mealtimes – a
great way to have family time!
As our society changes,
issues on family life are getting a higher profile in the media. Social
behaviour experts are engaging in studies to find out the dynamics of family
life and how they can have an impact on individuals and communities.
It was recently reported
that families living in the Mediterranean spend about an hour and a half, eating
their evening meal. This is an interesting comparison to families who live in
Britain and the Netherlands, where the evening meal lasts under fifteen minutes.
This trend is a typical reflection of what is happening throughout Europe.
‘Flexi-eating' is quickly becoming the norm as more and more people fit food
around their other commitments. This means that routine meals at home with the
family are decreasing in number.
But what could be more
important than family? Raising a family can be one of life's most rich and
rewarding experiences as well as one of the most challenging things we ever do
in life. In most cases, it is the driving force that motivates us to work long
hours so that we can provide for our families. Working long hours is often one
of the reasons why it is difficult to spend good quality time with our loved
ones.
Creating balance in life
to spend time with our family is increasingly becoming the focus of many people
all over Europe. That's why more and more people are looking at alternative
careers (like network marketing opportunities), which enable people to work
part-time hours from home.
If family time is limited
for you, try making family dinners a priority. Sitting together and taking time
while eating is a healthy part of family time and can contribute towards your
family's wellbeing.
